What “AutoCAD-ready” means here

A floor plan is AutoCAD-ready when walls, doors and dimensions arrive as CAD entities at the right scale, so you can snap, offset and dimension them. Most AI image tools cannot do that: they paint a picture of a plan, and the best you can do is trace it. We say plainly which of our tools gives you which.

Plan Chat builds the plan as geometry first and draws it second. Each room has a real size, walls have thickness, and the DXF export puts walls, openings, room names and dimensions on separate layers, one file per level, at true size (inches for imperial projects, millimetres for metric). That is the route for anyone who will keep working on the plan in AutoCAD.

The tool on this page is the right route when the plan already exists on paper: a hand sketch, an old blueprint, a photo of a printed plan.
